Dreary day at my uni dorm and it followed me to Nagoya D:
I apologise for my lax in making entries but I’ve been rather busy with homework and assignments and going out and whatnot. I went to Takayama and Gero during my Golden Week, so I’ll blog about those in good time.
Moving on, I did a few things over the course of Saturday! I ventured into Sakae, Nagoya again with a few goals and I thought it was a very rewarding day. That is, despite the downpour that happened for the whole day and how I’ve been wearing my boots for so long that the sole of the right shoe has spilt =.=”” Cue me having to walk around for the whole day with wet shoes, arghhhhh.
Anyway, I had 3 goals to complete in Nagoya: Johnny’s Shop Nagoya (I won’t talk about it in this post but later), Pokemon Centre Nagoya and a Cat Cafe! I succeeded!!……after getting lost a few times because I’m not sure why, but 2 of the places I wanted to visit BOTH MOVED TO A NEW LOCATION. What great luck I had. But it’s okay I did manage to find them in the end.
The first place I visited was the Johnny’s Shop in Nagoya but I’ll be leaving that for a separate post so moving onto the next location! I decided it was high time I ventured into the fabled Pokemon Centre, and one of them happens to be in Nagoya. Score! Unfortunately for me, Google Maps was not so helpful and while it was easy for me to get to Oasis 21, I quickly realised that the Pokemon centre recently moved >.> See, this is why I would be so lost without 4G….
After some searching around I made it to the 5th floor of Matsuzakaya, which was the new location of the Pokemon Centre in Nagoya.
Pikachu, it’s been too long!
The inside was a dream land and it brought back so many fond memories of my childhood. Even though there were a lot of new generation pokemon that I had NO idea what the names were but overall it was a fun place. A massive place filled with everything Pokemon, from loads and loads of plushies, stationery, bags, clothes, Nintendo goods and just…everything. At the back of the store there was an area where the kids can play the Pokemon card game and I think there was a small tournament going on when I was there XD Nostalgic.
Now because the Nagoya store moved locations there were some goods that were on sale exclusive to Nagoya in celebration of the relocation and I got a GOLDEN MAGIKARP. Yep XD I thought it was hilarious and I had to have it ^^;;
Even now I still think it’s funny LOL
Giant Golden Magikarp. I’m not sure who’s signature that is but I don’t think it’s the person who voices Pikachu lol
After being horribly distracted in the Pokemon Centre, it was time to find the Cat Cafe that I wanted to go to. I went to Cat Street, which was located not far from the Pokemon Centre and Sakae Subway Station. It was a very pleasant and relaxing experience indeed. Sadly, the cat room was full so I had to wait for about an hour before I could get in. Went around and came back and off I went into the cat room on the 2nd floor. Before heading in, you have to sanitize your hands with the provided sanitizer ^^ They have an explanation of how the cat cafe works here on their site 🙂
Poster outside Cat Street about the rates.
The moment I headed in so I could take off my shoes I had already spotted 2 cats.
There isn’t much else to say but AHHH CATS, so many of them and they all looked so adorable and fluffy. You get access to the drink bar but don’t forget to make sure no cats can get in or out of that room. Next to that is a toilet for humans and a toilet for the cats XD
The first 30 mins is 700 yen and the subsequent 30 min blocks are 500 yen each. You can also choose to have a 2 hour or 3 hour block lol I was there for an hour and it was SO relaxing. The cats look like they’re really looked after which is great. I highly recommend going to one of these cafes if you’re in Japan. Or if you don’t like cats or are allergic, there are also dog cafes and bunny cafes. I’m aiming for the bunny cafe next time 😀
Photos are fine as long as you don’t bother the other people and the cats too much and don’t use flash! You can’t provoke the cats or pick them up or whatnot either ahaha.
I’ll just leave some photos of the adorable cats 🙂
Probably my favourite cat there 🙂
This cat was sleeping for most of the time I was there.
Cats and boxes XD
HAH funnily enough that other cat was still sleeping in the box when the Scottish Fold jumped on top and started napping XD
This one was absolutely beautiful but was a little stuck up ^^;; but sooooooo pretty.
This one came up right up behind my seat.
As a side note, I’m sorry if Kyouya hasn’t been making appearances lately but he did go to Takayama and Gero with me! He also went to Sakae with me too but it was raining and I didn’t want him to get attacked by a cat XD
